Catalog for Thomas Nelson

This catalog was a special new design for the bible division of Thomas Nelson Publishers. It was created with the same existing budget they had been using for a four color 8.x11 glossy catalog. The special features were:

Gold foil type stamped on front cover
Leather like paper for cover
Tissue paper sleeves inside
Gold ribbon
New catalog products were on four color glossy paper
The rest of the catalog products were printed two color on uncoated paper

Brochure for Thomas Nelson, Inc.

This brochure is an informational brochure for Thomas Nelson which is a publishing house. I used an architectural rendering of Thomas Nelson’s headquarters on the cover which is titled, “The House”. Blueprints and renderings were used throughout. The front cover is die-cut with the reverse side of the page showing through.  The brochure was spiral bound so that in the future if content changed for a page, it would be easy to replace a page instead of requiring a complete reprint. The inside back cover is die-cut to hold a card showing the current New York Times bestsellers. As these books will change quarterly, the temporary card can easily be reprinted and replaced with the new info.

Marketing Presentation for Thomas Nelson

This marketing presentation was created for John Maxwell’s book, Put Your Dream to the Test. In the book, he uses aviation pioneers as an example of men who didn’t give up on their dreams until they became reality. So for the presentation, we went with an aviation theme. We bought a real flight log book and filler pockets that we placed our presentation in. Between the text pages in chronological order, I showed photos of the first aviators/dreamers and how their flying contraptions changed over time.

Beck & Al Newspaper Insert for Cheekwood

The Beck and Al: Playing With Matches Campaign for Cheekwood, designed together by Karinne Caulkins, Heather Dryden, and Linda won a Gold Addy. Linda designed the Nashville Scene newspaper insert for the campaign shown here. The campaign pieces were designed to represent visual artist Al Hansen’s philosophy that values spontaneity and the use of discarded materials creating art in a variety of media. The exhibit paired Hansen’s collages, videos and performances with the music videos, poetry and collages of his Grammy award-winning grandson Beck.
